Installed on a tilt bench (to simulate a 4x4 vehicle during a crossing, a mini-excavator or simulate fast turns), the Air-X allows to determine the critical inclination at which the lift-off occurs and the air is sucked in by the oil pump.

The purpose of this measurement was to determine the maximum inclination of the engine for an optimal functioning.

In this way, either the results are satisfactory, or a modification of the crankcase (addition of separation flap in the oil pan, increase of the crankcase oil level, etc.) is necessary.
